Being on the boat has been really great, but every so often renting a car is a treat.
When I was back home I could just run to the store anytime I needed anything. Sometimes I want to make a certain recipe but will be missing an item or two so I can't make it. I have to come up with recipes with only the ingredients that I have on board at the time. Sometimes that is very frustrating. So when I get to rent a car I love it.
Yesterday We had our wheels. We first drove down to Marathon to check out the marinas that we will be stopping next. I now know where all the snowbirds ended up. Those marinas in Marathon are filled with boats. There is the Boot Key Harbor that has 250 moorings and everyone was taken. You can not reserve these moorings. You have to be there in person and if there is no mooring ball available, you have to anchor out and go on a waiting list. Its a long way to the dock from the anchor field.
We decided to stay at this marina longer than planned because we like it better than the ones in Marathon. We will have to stop there before heading to Key West, but not for as long as I originally planned.
I forgot to mention in the last post that this Founders Park also has a pavilion that host concerts on the weekend.
We also went grocery shopping and to CVS to pick up all the essentials. We also stopped at Bass Pro Shops and to our surprise they had dog carts. Brady got to go inside and travel in style.
This morning we made another run to the store to pick up everything I forgot yesterday. We just have to leave the keys with the dockmaster at the marina and the car rental company will pick it up there. I will now just have to wait until I get to have wheels again.
