Southern Town

Georgia has many of these live oaks
draped with spanish moss

We met several of these shrimpers while
crossing Port Royal sound

More spanish moss

If you squint real hard you'll see the porpoise in our wake.
I just came back from a walk with Brady and now know what to blog about.
We are in the Isle of Hope, its a town in Savannah. This so far is the prettiest town. When you think about what a southern town would look like, this is it. The homes are not huge, but they all have porches that wrap around both levels. The architecture is very much what you see in the movies that are made  in the south. The street I was on had huge trees lining it with alot of spanish moss hanging on it. The trees over hanged  the street and made a canopy of spanish moss. Just really nice.
Today we woke up to clouds and rain all morning. this afternoon the sun came out and the temperatures reached 77. We are expecting a storm to come in overnight  with heavy rain and strong wind. We are tucked away in our slip so no worries here.
Tomorrow we will be leaving early even if its still raining and head to St Simons,GA. Its about 85 miles away so its going to be a long day. It should take at least 8-9hrs to get there. We will be staying  at a marina in St Simons. This marina that we are in has only face docks which mean all the boats parallel park. It makes it more difficult to get out, so Bob did not want to add any more length to the boat by adding the dinghy to the back.
I am cooking steak, baked potato and butternut squash tonight.
